HOLLAND

A handful of brickworks survived into the 1990s in Holland, plus a few other railways supporting other industries. Sadly by the end of the 1990s they had all closed down, with the railway at Winterswijk being the last to close.

Although a number of peat railways used to operate close to the German border, Purit Peat was the last surviver, closing at the end of 1994.
