Some interesting photos from Gaby Bachet from a carbon factory. Le Chatillonnais is to the north of Dijon, and although there are no locomotives on the site, the internal system is quite extensive.

This view across the top of the storage yard gives a feel for the number of wagons in use. There are estimated to be 120 of these cage wagons on site.

The only motive power in evidence was hand tramming to the tipplers.

To manouvre the wagons onto the turntables seems to take a team of 2-3 people.

The wagons are then pushed into a rotary tippler.

These pictures were taken in September 2007.

It is surprising perhaps that there is no loco used here considering the extent of the trackage, but this may be due to the amount of wangon turntables in use rather than points.

There were 20 wagon turntables counted on site.
