POLAND

Since the closure of the PKP narrow gauge systems some private ventures in conjuntion with local authoraties had reopening a few lines once again. However, otherthan tourist ventures, none of these have now survived. Possibly the line at Zbiersk may have been the last of these lined to contiunue carrying freight (on standard gauge transporters). The railways associated with the sugar beet systems have all disappeared now.

Small industrial systems in Poland had not been widely reported in the past, but there are certainly some still using narrow gauge railways. Reports on these systems are rare, but certainly includes a handful of peat railways still running.
